There are some things in life we do instinctively without thinking too much about and without realising how much of a benefit they might have on us both mentally and physically. Spending our lives with animals is one of those things.
I happened upon an article a few weeks ago about how good of us spending time with animals is. It took me on a deep dive into scientific papers and research because I found it so interesting and it spoke to me of my own life and how much I get out of keeping animals but I also thought of you and how many of my readers have pets or animals in their lives and they joy that comes from that.
Studies have shown that spending time with our pets decreases our blood pressure, reduces our cholesterol, alleviates feelings of loneliness and anxiety and even helps with symptoms of PTSD.
