Mid-December in the Nordics is a time when the days are at their shortest and the nights are long. For centuries, Nordic cultures have marked this dark period of the year with celebrations of light, warmth, and community. One of the most beloved winter traditions is Luciadagen or St Lucia Day, which is celebrated on 13 and 14 December in Sweden, Norway, and parts of Finland.
