Following the Reindeer: Seasonal Migration and Sami Life

There is a quiet magic in the Nordic winter that begins to stir in March. The long months of deep snow, frozen lakes, and dim light slowly give way to brighter days. It is in this delicate transition that the Sami people, guardians of a culture intertwined with the land, begin one of their most intimate traditions: the March reindeer migration.


The reindeer migration and it's celebration at Easter and two things I have always wanted to do. They have been on my bucket list for years and I wanted to share with you the excitement and deep history of the reindeer migration and why it's always intrigued me.
