What is slow living

My life hasn't always been as slow and intentional as it is now. In my twenties (which was not that long ago!) I worked in international event management, lived near London and travelled all over the world, flying to a new city almost every weekend for work. It was exciting and fast paced, but it was also stressful. On my weekends off I would get up early, pack a picnic, put on my hiking boots and drive to the Dorset coast. There I would spend the day hiking as far as I could, as far away from civilisation as possible and revel in the peace, calm and quiet that you only get when you take a break from noise, traffic and the man made world. Little did I know that sub consciously I was searching for a quieter, slower paced life. I am not sure I would have embraced it fully at that time. We have to be ready for things and consciously embrace it at the right time.
