Velkommen 2026! Welcome 2026!

As we start the new year we have found ourselves in a soft blanket of snow in Norway. I woke up this morning to the sound of the snow plough on the road outside and knew that we would start the day clearing snow from the front door step.

It's been a strange couple of months without snow and most unusual for the Nordics at the beginning of the winter. The first fall of snow is always exciting and it brightens everything up as the winter sunshine shines off it.

January can feel bleak after Christmas but it doesn't have to be so let me share what we look forward to in January in Norway and what I will be doing to bring joy and pleasure to one of the coldest months:
