Christmas baking is already underway in my house as I like to try lots of new and unusual recipes, and plenty of the traditional too. Norwegian and Swedish Christmas baking is something that many people know well (pepperkaker, serinakaker and krumkaker are all beloved favourites), but Finnish Christmas baking is often neglected and overlooked. So I wanted to share a delicious and simple Finnish Christmas treat that can be put together in a few minutes.

Joulutorttu or Finnish Christmas stars are delightful, light little pastries made from puff pastry and jam. What's not to love?!
If you are feeling adventurous you can make your own puff pastry, but it's much easier to buy a packet of ready made and ready rolled puff pastry to throw these tasty treats together in no time at all.
