I love cooking really traditional dishes and especially those that are not seen very often. Gáhkku is one of those wonderful baked goods that doesn't get enough love in my opinion. In Norway it's often called klappakake and it resembles the popular bread polarbrød which you find in almost every supermarket in Norway and Sweden.

Gáhkko is a traditional Sami flatbread with a rich history. The Sami only gained aceess to flour in the 1700s and with it started to create this delicious bread that was cooked simply over an open fire on a griddle.
