Norwegian Brunost Apple Crumble

As soon as I can see autumn on the horizon I want to start cooking cosy, comforting dishes with apples. A friend of the family has a couple of really old apples trees in his garden and we make a yearly pilgrimage to his garden to pick apples. We end up with rather a lot and they don't really lend themselves to eating raw to say the least!!! But they are fabulous for cooking and making cider.
