Ut på tur, Getting Outside on Sundays

Ut på tur, aldri sur. 

You may have heard this old expression. Or maybe you have heard your Norwegian grandparents saying it.  It’s a popular expression here in Norway and it means “out on a trip, never grumpy”.  And although it seems a little odd when you think about it it's so true though – how can we be grumpy when we are outside?  But let’s look at that in more depth in a minute. 

I expect you are asking yourself what on earth being out on a trip has to do with Nordic living and living a simple, intentional life.
